If you only come to the meeting once, nobody has had a chance to get to know you. To get the magic you need to come a several times. Let's face it - you gotta eat lunch, why not find new business connections while you do it.
Guests are the lifeblood of networking. This is why getting 7 guests is key to getting your membership. Unfortunately, many member slack off on inviting guests once they become members. But its every person's responsibility to invite new guests in order to keep the group thriving. Keep a stack of PPT business cards with your own & give them out together when you meet someone who does not conflict with an existing member.
Introductions happen in the elevator speech, but the real business building happens in the one on ones. This is where you really get to know if the other person is a good fit for you, and if they may know someone who could use your services, and vice versa. Try to set up at least one one/one meeting every time you come to PPT
